We specialize in making software easy to use and appropriate for its audience. As we develop your project, we are constantly analyzing the user interface to eliminate unnecessary clicks and awkward navigation. We understand that a tool is only useful if users are willing to use it and that quick, comprehensible tools equate to greater productivity and lower stress for both you and your employees. We have developed easy-to use tools for some extremely challenging UI tasks, and will bring the same expertise to your project.

We're the maintainers of the Insoshi social networking platform, and have extensive experience integrating Facebook, Twitter, and other social tools with custom website.

Need a modern, geographically-aware web application? We can help you with location-sensitive apps, GIS databases, search by distance, etc. We're familiar with many geographical tools and APIs, but currently prefer USC Webgis / GIS Research Laboratory tools for our clients, for their low cost and unencumbered terms of service.

Whether it's simple tools like blogs, shopping carts, and image galleries, or enterprise-grade content management tools, CRMs, collaboration environments and social networks, LRDesign can help you select and set up these free tools, saving you thousands over proprietary solutions. We have extensive experience with dozens of these packages. And if there is no existing solution that exactly fits your needs, we have the tools and experience to develop completely custom solutions with free OSS building blocks.

Ruby on Rails
You've heard the buzz. Rails allows for extremely rapid, well-tested web-based database applications, automatically handling the tedious details so the programmer can build your tools quickly. It's LRDesign's first choice for most new web applications development.
PHP / LAMP
PHP is a standard workhorse of the Web 2.0 world and is the language behind many of the web's biggest applications, like WordPress, Wikipedia, Joomla, and many others. We have six years experience building and delivering LAMP applications, and still make extensive use of it in automating small websites and tasks where the full framework of Rails is not needed.
Java
Sun Microsystems' Java is a critical tool of the enterprise world and is well suited to many tasks where other web-based tools will not suffice. We have been developing applications in Java since 1997, and prefer it for many tasks where performance is critical.
XHTML / CSS / Web Standards
Logical Reality is a strong proponent of the web standards movement, and strives to produce the highest quality, most reliable web code anywhere. We compatibility test our top-end websites against a suite of over 30 web browsers on multiple versions of Microsoft Windows, Apple Macintosh, and Linux. If you have special needs to support specific or unusual platforms, we can handle those needs with knowledge and skills many web development firms don't have.
