Caltech Alumni Association: The Alumni Association of the California Institute of Technology website includes social networking, alumni directory, e-commerce (membership and event registration sales), event calendar, discussion forums, and dozens of other components. One of the most technically challenging projects LRD has ever undertaken, this site required extensive work to share and synchronize data with an existing legacy Oracle database employed by the school's development office, including tools for manual administrative approval of all changes to the Oracle DB.
UniThrive, Inc.: UniThrive is a lending and social networking platform that connects students and alumni to help reduce the cost of higher education by extending zero-interest loans directly from alumni to students. UniThrive is implemented as a fork of the Insoshi social networking framework that we maintain.
RFX, Inc.: RFX sells and supports video editing, compositing, and special effects software to the Hollywood film industry. We helped them replace their old, flat HTML site with a modern Rails app that integrates with social media, organizes their vast catalog into a searchable DB, and provides a database of support information to their customers. e-Commerce is in development and planned for a future version of the site. The site also has extensive customized CMS capabilities, with every aspect of the site - from page content down to the front page slideshow images and slide timing - editable via the web-based administration interface.
Caltech - Data Collection Tool: We're not allowed to tell you too many details of this super-secret intranet data collection project! We replaced a 20-year old paper-based process involving dozens of three-inch binders with a slick new Rails app and clean jQuery interface. One of the board members took a first look at the collation interface and said "It's like Christmas came early today".
Ecliptic Enterprises - New Site: Currently in development, you can see the in-process build of the new site for Ecliptic Enterprises, an aerospace engineering firm in Pasadena and makers of the RocketCam™ camera system responsible for the dramatic video footage of rocket and Space Shuttle launches you see on TV. The new site is a custom-designed CMS to allow easy management of press releases, news mentions collation, and many other tables of dynamic data. The site is social-networking and YouTube integrated.
LHMP - Lucas Horsfall Murphy & Pindroh Accountants: LHMP's new site is a custom CMS built by Logical Reality Design, Inc., married to a design by our partners Alan Herman and Associates.
Alan Herman and Associates: Alan Herman and Associates is a Pasadena / Monrovia design and marketing firm with a 30+ year history in Southern California. When they designed their new website, they came to us for a custom CMS implemented in Rails.
RailsTutorial.org: LRD created the logo and layout for RailsTutorial.org, the new book / website / screencast series by Michael Hartl.
Insoshi Social Networking Platform: LRD created the logo and landing page design for Insoshi, the premier open-source social networking platform originally developed by Insoshi, Inc. Insoshi is now maintained as an open-source project by Logical Reality.
EclipticDB: EclipticDB is a project, process, and electronic resource management tool under development in Ruby on Rails for our client Ecliptic Enterprises. The initial version was launched in Spring 2008, and it is continually being extended with new features and capabilities.
